Berde Renewables Inc. and PSS Group have formed a joint venture to develop solar, battery storage, and hybrid energy projects across Southeast Asia.
The collaboration begins with a 218-megawatt peak (MWp) portfolio and aims to deploy 300 megawatts (MW) of clean energy capacity over the next three years.
This initiative seeks to enhance energy security and support decarbonization efforts in the region.
PSS Group Founder and CEO Sam Yamdagni emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating, “This joint venture strengthens Thailand’s renewable energy landscape by combining PSS’s deep market expertise with ISQ/Berde’s global expertise.”
The alliance will integrate Berde Renewables’ proficiency in clean energy technologies with PSS Group’s engineering and industrial service capabilities.
Their goal is to deliver reliable renewable energy solutions for commercial, industrial, and grid-scale applications.
Morris Zhou, Co-founder of Berde Renewables Inc., highlighted the venture’s strategic importance, saying, “By combining our strengths, we aim to deliver innovative, world-class renewable energy solutions and empower organizations and industry leaders to drive decarbonization and sustainability.”
As Southeast Asia strives to diversify its energy mix to combat climate change, this joint venture positions itself to play a pivotal role in advancing sustainable power infrastructure.
The partnership will explore corporate power purchase agreements, grid-stabilizing solutions, and energy-efficient technologies to ensure a resilient clean energy future for the region.
This development aligns with broader regional trends.
For instance, Vietnam is revising its energy plans to focus more on large solar farms, aiming to increase solar energy’s share to 16% from the previous 5% target.
This shift underscores Southeast Asia’s commitment to renewable energy expansion.
The Berde-PSS collaboration reflects a growing momentum in Southeast Asia’s renewable energy sector, contributing to the region’s sustainable development goals.
