Stuck in Las Vegas since March 15, 2020, John Riel Casimero sees no problem despite not seeing his family for over a month.
With his mega-fight with World Boxing Association and International Boxing Federation king Naoya “Monster” Inoue nearing, Casimero said that getting stuck in the USA because of the COVID-19 crisis will only help him get better prepared.
Originally set on April 25 but halted because of the pandemic, Casimero emphasized that they set goals within the lockdown stage of the crisis, adding that he only got better because of the added training time.
MP (Manny Pacquiao) promotions president Sean Gibbons, for his part, frequently visits Casimero in his training camp to make sure that things are all good for the Filipino slugger.
Gibbons said that while the Japanese monster is taking a break, they’re working, and that will be Casimero’s edge in their upcoming bout.
“While the monster is sleeping, we’re working. Look at the champ, money shot. Goodbye monster,” Gibbons added.
Will Casimero avenge Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire’s devastating loss against Inoue?
