BACOLOD CITY — Two separate buy-bust operations led to the confiscation of PHP 1.8 million worth of suspected shabu from three high-value individuals here on Wednesday.
The first operation was conducted by Police Station 8 in Purok San Roque, Barangay Tangub.
The operation led to the arrest of Ar, 26, and Van, 38, both residents of La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.
Police said they seized 150 grams of suspected shabu from the two suspects.
The confiscated drugs were valued at PHP 1.020 million.
Shortly before midnight, another buy-bust operation was carried out in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2.
The second operation resulted in the arrest of alias Rus, 22, a tricycle driver and resident of Barangay Bata, Bacolod City.
Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit confiscated 120 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect.
The seized drugs were valued at PHP 816,000.
The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region highlighted the intensified and intelligence-driven efforts of law enforcement in suppressing the proliferation of illegal drugs and dismantling drug networks in the city.
Buy-bust operations remain among the primary law enforcement tools used to curb the illegal drug trade and target high-value individuals identified in police anti-drug operations.
