BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has arrested 263 persons while one was killed in the campaign against illegal drugs here from January 1 to June 10, 2020.
Based on the data sent by Police Major Lester Leada, acting chief of the BCPO operations unit, the numbers included 155 drug pushers, 101 users, and seven minors.
Police Station 2 has the highest number of arrests with 33 drug pushers, 38 drug users, and three minors, followed by Police Station 1 with 17 drug pushers and 18 drug users.
The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) collared 16 drug pushers and 13 drug users.
The arrests stemmed from 174 operations conducted by the BCPO within the said period, Leada said.
Meanwhile, the BCPO arrested 52 drug personalities in 35 operations amid the community quarantine from March 17 to June 10, 2020.
Despite the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the BCPO continues to intensify its war against illegal drugs.
