BACOLOD City – Two police stations here will have their own three-storey building soon after the recent signing of Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) between the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and lot donors on Wednesday.
Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, BCPO public information officer, said Barangay Cabug officials yesterday signified to donate a 600-square-meter lot in front of their barangay hall for the proposed Police Station 9.
Pico said it is the standard design police station with a budget of P5 million from the national headquarters.
Pico said that Police Station 9 is currently temporarily situated in a private property in Barangay Sum-ag for many years now.
Colonel Manuel Placido, BCPO director and Lieutenant Gilbert Batiles, Station 9 commander, led the signing of the MOA with Barangay Cabug Captain Juan Zonuel Malayang last Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Pico said that the Bantug family also signified to donate a 500 square meter lot to Police Station 5 near the Bantug resort in Barangay Granada. The MOA signing was held last week.
Pico said Police Station 5 is presently occupying a space in a private property in the said village for a long time now.
With the said development, Pico said the local police can now utilize the allocated funds with the said projects. He said the proposal will be processed at the higher office so that it will be materialized early next year.
He said station commanders of other police stations are also urged to look for lot donors so that they can also have their own police station as most of them are still occupying space in a private property.
