BACOLOD City – A wife allegedly killed her drunken husband inside their house at Sitio Agtotonoy, Barangay Prosperidad, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental last Thursday.
The victim was identified as Angelito Cedon, 44.
Police Lieutenant Ruby Aurita, deputy police chief of San Carlos City Police Station, said Angelito arrived at their house drunk, and allegedly choked his wife Mary Jane Cedon, 28.
Irritated by her husband’s behavior, Mary Jane allegedly stabbed her husband multiple times, causing his immediate death, Aurita said.
The incident was witnessed by their 10-year-old son, she added.
Aurita said that Angelito would usually hurt his wife physically whenever he was drunk.
“Napuno na gid siya siguro kay ginasakit daw siya pirmi sang iya bana kung makainom,” she added.
Mary Jane surrendered to their purok president, and was later turned over to the police, along with the kitchen knife used in the crime.
Aurita said the couple’s eldest son and their eight-year-old daughter are now in the custody of their relatives.
Aurita said that parricide charges will be filed against the suspect.
