Batad fisherman on most wanted list arrested

A fisherman on Iloilo province’s most wanted list was arrested in a police manhunt operation on the afternoon of June 14 in Batad, Iloilo.

Alias Pototaw, 48, was apprehended in Barangay Tanao, Batad.

Members of the Batad Municipal Police Station arrested the suspect by virtue of a warrant for attempted murder issued by the 6th Regional Trial Court Branch 66 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, on June 11, 2026.

A PHP 120,000 bail bond was recommended for his provisional liberty.

Police said the suspect is among the top 10 most wanted persons in the province.

Police Regional Office 6 said the arrest was carried out at about 2:40 p.m. by the Batad police tracker team.

Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño, Western Visayas police chief, commended the operating personnel of the Batad Municipal Police Station for the successful arrest.

He also emphasized PRO-6’s commitment to ensuring that persons facing criminal charges are brought before the courts.

Tuaño encouraged the public to continue supporting the Philippine National Police by providing timely and relevant information that can aid law enforcement efforts in maintaining peace and order in communities.
