The suspect, identified only as alias Junjun, 51, barangay chair of Barangay Canauili, was apprehended in a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office–Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit.
Police seized about 410 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect.
IPPO-PDEU chief Maj. Dadje Delima said the seized drugs have an estimated standard drug price of PHP 2,788,000.

The suspect is currently under the custody of the Janiuay Municipal Police Station and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
