BACOLOD City – Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran said Thursday that the 14th COVID-19 patient here made bank transactions before it was known that she tested positive for the virus.
Familiaran issued the statement after reports came out in social media that the bank where the patient had transactions was “locked down” Monday.
Familiaran clarified to Daily Guardian that the bank shut down upon the decision of the management.
He said that contact tracing is being conducted and those who encountered the patient were subjected to swab tests.
Bacolod’s COVID Case No.14 is a 36-year-old female, from the village of Taculing. She is asymptomatic and has no pre-existing health condition.
She also has no travel history and a former Department of Education frontliner, but currently an importer/exporter of essential goods.
She underwent RT-PCR test on May 22, 2020, and the result was released May 29, same day that she reportedly made her bank transactions.
