BACOLOD CITY — A misunderstanding led to the death of a 30-year-old woman after she was allegedly stabbed by her 39-year-old live-in partner at their rented house in Barangay Tangub here on Sunday.
Police Capt. Sherwin Galupar, head of Police Station 8, said the couple had a disagreement but did not disclose the specific cause of the argument.
The suspect, a band member, allegedly attacked the victim with a kitchen knife, stabbing her in the chest.
Galupar said the victim later died at a hospital after initially sustaining two stab wounds.
The suspect was arrested but was later released from police custody because no charges were filed against him within the reglementary period.
Galupar said the victim’s family is willing to press charges against the suspect and is preparing the necessary documents.
