Balut peddler killed in road mishap

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 57-year-old balut vendor was killed after his tricycle accidentally bumped into a truck Tuesday at Barangay Rizal, Pontevedra, Capiz.
Hoias Catedral of said place was declared dead on arrival in a hospital due to fatal head injuries and other parts of his body.
According to Police Major Syril Punzalan, Pontevedra PNP chief, the victim was on his way home from the town’s public market when he collided with the truck driven by Jojo De Asis, 41, who was on his way from Estancia, Iloilo to Roxas City.
Catedral allegedly failed to notice the approaching truck.
The police temporarily detained De Asis while investigation is ongoing.
