The 2026 DTI-Bagong Pilipinas National Trade Fair generated PHP 129.68 million in total sales during its five-day run at SM Megamall, giving micro, small, and medium enterprises an early boost in the Department of Trade and Industry’s trade promotion calendar for the year.
Held from Feb. 18 to 22, 2026, the fair brought together 335 MSMEs from across the Philippines and drew 15,103 visitors to the Megatrade Halls, underscoring strong buyer interest in locally made goods at the start of the DTI’s 2026 event lineup.
The reported sales total covered direct cash purchases, booked orders, and business deals that were still under negotiation during the event, showing that the fair’s commercial value extended beyond over-the-counter transactions.
As the first flagship trade event of the year, the fair gave local enterprises a direct channel to reach both everyday shoppers and professional buyers, helping businesses expand beyond their home regions and test demand in a larger marketplace.
The event went beyond product display by focusing on the professionalization of local brands, with sessions on digital tools, export shipping, and environmentally responsible production. Those activities reflected the DTI’s wider push to help MSMEs become more competitive in domestic and international markets.
“Show & Tell” product demonstrations and fashion showcases also gave entrepreneurs an opportunity to receive direct public feedback, allowing them to refine their offerings before scaling up to broader markets.
The strong turnout and broad product mix, from home décor to green innovations, pointed to rising consumer interest in Philippine-made goods that combine design, utility, and sustainability. That trend has become more visible in recent DTI fairs, which have increasingly highlighted eco-friendly and value-added products from regional producers.
For many of the participating MSMEs, the National Trade Fair served as a proving ground for new concepts, giving them a chance to gauge market response before moving into larger commercial channels.
A key feature of the event was the Business Connect Lounge, where sellers met with large corporate buyers to discuss longer-term supply arrangements that could keep small businesses operating well after the fair’s public run ended.
The result gives the DTI’s Bureau of Market Development, Promotions, and OTOP a strong opening for its 2026 calendar of regional and themed fairs, as the agency expands market-access programs for small businesses nationwide. Media reports on the department’s 2026 trade agenda said the DTI was planning a broader fair circuit this year to widen MSME participation and sales opportunities.
The National Trade Fair has remained one of the DTI’s main platforms for bringing regional producers to national buyers, especially at a time when many small firms are trying to strengthen branding, logistics, and buyer networks in a more competitive retail environment.
Business owners and buyers interested in upcoming fairs may contact the bureau through bmdpo@dti.gov.ph or monitor official Bureau of Market Development, Promotions, and OTOP social media channels for updates.
