BACOLOD City – Police here are looking for the two persons who allegedly robbed and mauled an incumbent councilor of Bago City, Negros Occidental last Wednesday.
Police Lieutenant Andy Ofalia, deputy police chief of Police Station 2, said that the 47-year-old councilor was supposed to buy something here for his business when he was reportedly flagged down by the suspects at 18th Lacson Street in Barangay 4 here and threatened him with an ice pick.
Ofalia said the suspects then rode the councilor’s vehicle, declared the hold-up, and instructed him to drive to a motel where he was allegedly mauled and robbed of his valuables.
Ofalia said the councilor reported to the police that the suspects punched and kicked him causing minor injuries in his body.
They reportedly carted away his cellular phone, and wallet containing P7,000.
Ofalia said the suspects then fled on board the councilor’s red car. The incident was personally reported by the victim.
Ofalia said that they have no lead yet on the identities of the suspects, although the councilor had heard one of them calling the other “Jun.”
