Bacolod to Install Eight More Traffic Lights

BACOLOD CITY – The city government plans to purchase eight additional traffic light systems for installation at key intersections.
Mayor Alfredo “Albee” Benitez recently announced that the city has allocated PHP55 million for the project.
“We have discussed placing these new traffic lights in areas or intersections with heavy traffic flow,” he said.
In addition, Benitez said the city has set aside PHP5 million for the repair of 10 existing traffic lights.
“I just signed the program of works,” he added.
Records from the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office show that the traffic lights in need of repair are located at the following intersections:
- Burgos-Circumferential Streets (Lopue’s East)
- Burgos-Lopez Jaena Streets
- BS Aquino-La Salle Street
- Burgos-Hilado Streets
- Burgos-Lacson Streets
- Rizal-Lacson Streets
- BS Aquino-Lacson Street (Ramos)
- Hernaez-Lacson Streets (Tay Tung)
- Lizares-Araneta Streets
- Hernaez-Araneta Streets
Benitez said the city is waiting for the arrival of spare parts before proceeding with the repairs.
