Bacolod to give P3.5-M cash aid to flood-hit LGUs of 3rd district

BACOLOD City – Mayor Evelio Leonardia said Bacolod City will give PHP3.5-million to local government units in northern Negros that were affected by heavy rains recently.
PHP1-million will be given each to the cities of Talisay, Silay, and Victorias. A fund of PHP500,000 will also be given to the municipality of E. B. Magalona.
“I commend the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, in a meeting presided over by Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran and Executive Assistant Joemarie Vargas, for the quick response and approval of my request for assistance to our neighbors who recently experienced heavy flooding. We will now submit the same to the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) for its ratification,” Leonardia said.
