BACOLOD City – Bacolod Lone District Rep. Greg Gasataya is pushing for the extension of the “Bayanihan to Recover as One Act 2” or Bayanihan 2 until June 30, 2021.
Gasataya, vice chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, sponsored House Bill 8063 which pushes for the extension of Bayanihan 2 until next year and for the government to provide funds for the same.
This, after Malacañang sent a letter certifying as urgent the passage of HB 8063.
Gasataya said the purpose of the Committee is to pass the bill and the same can be signed by the President before Congress adjourns on Dec 19, 2020.
He said once the bill is passed, the government can continue to allot, disburse and at the same time make available appropriation for national agencies and government financial institutions assistance for measures against the coronavirus disease or COVID-19 for local government units.
