BACOLOD CITY — The Bacolod City government has partnered with Shopee Philippines to provide digital upskilling training for 100 micro, small, and medium enterprises through the Tatak Pinoy Roadshow.
Mayor Greg Gasataya welcomed the Shopee team, led by Jack Ng, head of commercial at Shopee Philippines, at the Bacolod City Government Center on Monday ahead of the training held Tuesday.
About 100 MSMEs joined the session, which aimed to help local businesses sell their products on a larger digital platform.
The Shopee team also reviewed the documents of participating MSMEs to assess their readiness for onboarding to the platform.
Ng said Shopee is expanding the roadshow across the Visayas and Mindanao to unlock the untapped potential of regional businesses and equip entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge needed for online success.
“We also actually help local businesses scale beyond local borders,” Ng said.
Ng said that through Tatak Pinoy International, more than 200,000 sellers have been able to sell their products overseas, with about 22 million products sold outside the Philippines since the program began.
He added that Shopee supports sellers throughout their journey, from setting up online stores to marketing, fulfillment, and logistics.
Gasataya thanked Shopee for the initiative, saying it gives Bacolod MSMEs more opportunities to showcase their products and boost sales amid growing interest in digital commerce in the city.
Shopee launched the Tatak Pinoy Roadshow in August 2025 as a digital upskilling program for MSMEs, and the company said it trained more than 700 MSME sellers across 10 cities last year.
An official San Juan City government announcement for a 2025 leg of the roadshow described the program as offering mentorship in digital marketing, online selling strategies, customer service, fulfillment, and financing, underscoring its broader push to help Filipino entrepreneurs build e-commerce capability.
The Bacolod training also aims to encourage more MSMEs to join Shopee’s learning programs and formally onboard onto the platform.
