BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) confiscated a total of 446.215 grams of illegal drugs worth P3,034,262 from Nov. 1 to Dec. 19, 2022.
Based on their record, 66 persons, including two high-value individuals (HVI) and 57 street-level individuals (SLI) were arrested in 58 police operations.
A total of 86 cases were filed in court for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In the campaign against wanted persons, the city police force conducted a total of 60 operations that resulted in the apprehension of 24 Most Wanted Persons (MWP) and 59 Other Wanted Persons charged with various offenses.
For the campaign against loose firearms, 25 police operations were conducted which resulted in the arrest of four violators and the confiscation of four homemade firearms.
Twenty-five cases were filed against the suspects for violation of RA 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Law.
For anti-illegal gambling, BCPO conducted 23 police operations and arrested 55 individuals. A total of 23 cases have been filed in court against the violators while total bet money amounting to P6,289 were confiscated.
Police Colonel Thomas Joseph Martir, BCPO director, lauded the operating units and its personnel for their continuous effort to lessen the criminality here.
The BCPO director vows to continue to give the Bacolodnons a safe and peaceful place to live.
