Bacolod City resumes 5-day e-jeep dry run for Cabug

BACOLOD CITY – The city government has resumed the five-day dry run of electric jeepneys (E-jeeps) for the Barangay Cabug route from June 25 to 29.

This follows the suspension of the Cabug route last month, pending barangay assessment and addressing concerns from affected residents.

The dry run offers free rides to commuters to evaluate if this route can be included in the enhanced Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP).

The route starts from the Circumferential Road going north until Bangga Cory, then turns left onto P. Hernaez Extension, right onto Napoleon Gonzaga St., left onto Lopez Jaena St., right onto Hernaez St., left onto Mabini St., left onto Lizares St., right onto Hernaez St., right onto Bangga Cory-Circumferential Road South, and back to the starting point.

Last month, the city government completed its dry run on the Barangay Vista Alegre route despite initial opposition from some tricycle drivers concerned about their livelihoods.

The city and tricycle drivers in Barangay Vista Alegre later reached an agreement, allowing the local government to resume the dry run in the area.

These two routes are part of the city’s “green lanes,” expected to be sustainable and environmentally friendly.
