BACOLOD City – Bacolod City Councilor Elmer Sy passed away Friday in a hospital here at the age of 66.
Sy’s son Newton said his father was confined at the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center (BAMC) for weeks already and had been placed on life support.
The life support system that kept the councilor alive was unplugged Friday as he was no longer responding.
Sy served as Bacolod City councilor for several terms. He was reelected in the 2019 elections.
He served as chairman for the city council’s Committee on Public Works and Committee on Natural Disaster and Calamities.
