BACOLOD CITY — Two alleged drug personalities were arrested and PHP 408,000 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated in separate buy-bust operations here over the weekend.
The intensified operations led to the arrest of two street-level individuals and the seizure of about 60 grams of suspected shabu.
The first operation was conducted shortly after midnight in Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2, by Police Station 2 after authorities received a report that a 25-year-old woman was allegedly engaged in illegal drug activities.
Police said they recovered about 25 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 170,000 and PHP 15,000 in marked money from the suspect.
About an hour later, operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit apprehended a 30-year-old man in Purok Katilingban, Barangay 40, after he allegedly yielded 35 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 238,000.
The suspect was reportedly engaged in illegal drug activities in Barangays 40, 27 and 28 in this city.
The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region said the back-to-back operations reflected its intensified campaign to dismantle illegal drug networks at the grassroots level.
The regional office said it would continue intelligence-driven and high-impact operations across the region as part of its anti-illegal drug campaign.
