Bacolod 2020 budget approved on 2nd reading

Bacolod City- Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran on Tuesday said that the 2020 budget of the city government was approved on 2nd reading during their session.
Familiaran said the budget will get final approval in their session next week.
Earlier, Councilor Cindy Rojas, SP Finance committee chair, said almost all of the city hall departments got funding increase in 2020.
Among the departments with budget hikes are City Health Office (P169 million), the Bacolod City College (P59 million), and the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (P19.5 million).
Meanwhile Department of Social Services and Development got P78 million, while the Bacolod City Police Office has P8 million.
Some 52 percent of the proposed P3-billion budget for 2020 will be sourced from local taxes while 48 percent is from the internal revenue allotment.
