Michael Angelo Marquez and wife Stephanie Sabalo earned plaudits from the Sangguniang Panlalawigan during its session Wednesday.
Aside from the Marquez couple, the SP also congratulated Debbie “Bgirl Hate” Mahinay, another Bacoleña, who won a silver medal in the women’s break dancing category.
The three were cited in a resolution authored by Councilor Simplicia Distrito.
The resolution also acknowledged Michael and Jossette Marquez of Barangay 14, Bacolod City as the parents of Michael Angelo.
The Marquez couple topped the pasa doble event and placed second in jive during the dancesports competition.
Distrito said the couple with “their amazing efforts in the said events are remarkable and did not only captivate the eyes of the judges and the audience but also bolstered the medal tally of the Philippines at the onset of the competition,”
Mahinay, a member of a local dance group “Critical Breakdown Crew,” represented the Philippines in the break dancing category and earned a silver medal with her impressive performance during the event.
