ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 40-year-old foreman was seriously injured in a stabbing incident Monday evening at Sitio Katamnan in Barangay Parian, Sigma, Capiz.
The police identified the victim as Rosalino Taboco, a native of Barangay Bunga, Don Salvador, Negros Occidental.
Investigation by the Sigma Municipal Police Station indicated that the suspect identified as Vicente Estita, 48, of Brgy. San Ambrosio, Igbaras, Iloilo, was sleeping when the victim approached and tried to wake him up.
A heated argument ensued between the two that led to Estita stabbing Taboco with a knife.
The victim suffered two stab wounds in the abdomen and was taken by fellow workers to Gerardo Roxas Memorial District Hospital in Dao, Capiz. He was later transferred to a private hospital in Roxas City.
Estita was arrested in a follow up operation and presently detained at Sigma municipal police station.
Police learned that the two were drunk when the incident happened.
