BACOLOD City – A baby boy was found abandoned in the lobby of the San Sebastian Cathedral here yesterday.
Police Major Elmer Bonilla, head of Police Station 1, said that a female churchgoer found the baby which was wrapped in a white cloth.
Bonilla said the woman tried to find the mother or guardian of the baby but nobody was able to notice someone entering the Church with a baby that morning.
Bonilla said the woman brought the baby to the police station and was referred to the Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) of Barangay 11.
The baby will then be turned over to the custody of Holy Infant Nursery Foundation Inc., a non-profit charitable institution for the orphaned, abandoned, neglected, and destitute children aged between 0 and 6, according to Bonilla.
