The Philippine national football team bounced back from a loss at the hands of the Syrians by shooting down Guam, 4-1, in the second round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
The Azkals started fluidly with their brilliant ball passing and stepped on the gas early on to cash in an early goal, courtesy of Angel Guirado’s strike.
With the Azkals applying immense pressure on Guam’s offense, they quickly got a stop and converted another goal courtesy of Patrick Reichelt in the twelfth minute of the match.
The squad from Guam managed to cash in one goal in the sixty-seventh minute from Marcus Lopez that put them within striking distance, 1-2, but the national team continued their dominant offense and tight defense throughout the second half, adding goals from Stephan Schrock and John-Patrick Strauss.
The Azkals are looking to finish strong and notch the top spot to advance to the next round of the FIFA World Cup Qualifier.
