The Philippine Azkals are ready to take on the tough task of entering the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) joint-qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the 2023 Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
After the top officials decided to transfer from China to UAE as the main venue of the qualifiers, the Azkals on the other hand were continuing with their training under the supervision of head coach Scott Cooper.
The good news is also on the side of the Azkals as some players who were listed as probable to fly and boost the lineup may arrive on time and suit up for the PH.
The top Filipino booters will be squaring off against China on June 8 at 1 AM (Manila time) and must take them down to advance to the third round of the qualifiers.
Guam is also waiting for the PH Azkals on June 11 while their last stint in UAE will be up against Maldives on June 15.
Despite having a banged-up roster with several key players out, team captain and Azkals mainstay Stephan Schrock is still optimistic that they can perform at the level they expected.
The young guns who were the biggest revelations during the 2020 Philippines Football League (PFL) will try to make their impact headed by superstar Jarvey Gayoso.
