SM City Iloilo takes center stage this Dinagyang season by bringing the city’s most anticipated celebrations into one central destination. As the festival grows bigger and bolder, AweSM Iloilo 2026 invites Ilonggos and visitors alike to celebrate Dinagyang to the max, positioning the mall at the heart of the festivities.
The mall stands as the natural hub of Dinagyang activities throughout the celebration. From gathering with family and friends to enjoying food trips, cultural showcases, and special get-togethers, SM City Iloilo becomes the go-to meeting place for locals and visitors. Its strategic location and dynamic atmosphere create a convenient, relaxed way to experience Dinagyang—on your own time and at your own rhythm.
A wide range of events unfolded during the week. The Grand Iloilo Food Festival officially opened last January 22 at SM Southpoint and was graced by Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Trenas. As a support and complement to Iloilo City’s title as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, the food festival celebrates local flavors and rediscovers Ilonggo favorites brought by various local food tenants.
Inside the mall, visitors get a chance to taste Ilonggo-inspired recipes from participating mall tenants showcasing their hero dishes. SM shoppers can also go on an AweSM Iloilo Food Trip adventure by riding the point-to-point shuttle buses for free at the mall’s main entrance and experience the food offerings at the Iloilo Central and Terminal Markets and back.
Visitors got the best view and the most convenient locations along Diversion Road during the Dinagyang ILOmination Festival of Light Festivals 2026 and Floats Parade last January 23. SM City Iloilo drew crowds eager to witness illuminated performances and powerful choreography of five of the country’s most captivating light festivals in one magical spectacle.
The exhibit of the 2026 Dinagyang costumes gives visitors the first glimpse of intricate and artistic pieces before the actual tribes competition in the city proper. It also serves as a photo opp area for tourists and locals to capture festival memories, as it creates a picture-perfect spot to jumpstart the festivities. Furthermore, the Western Visayas Gastronomy and Creative Expo, which officially opened last January 19, offers a closer look at regional artistry, craftsmanship, and proudly local products.
AweSM Street Scenes bring the festival energy to life with vibrant sights and interactive experiences that turn every corner into a celebration from January 22 to 25, while the Grand PawSM Parade and Costume Contest last January 22 at SM Southpoint offered lighthearted moments for pet lovers.
Adding excitement to the festivities, the AweSM Street Party at SM Southpoint brings together live music, performances, and street culture that keeps the festival nights alive.
The evening kicked off with the Kapuso Mall Show last January 23, bringing delight to the celebration with the hottest stars gracing the event. At 9:30 p.m., the sky lit up with the much-anticipated annual AweSM Pyro Display, adding a dazzling spectacle to the already excitement-filled night.
Dinagyang continues to turn into full party mode on January 24 at 11:00 p.m. with iconic dance group SexBomb’s Rochelle Pangilinan at SM Southpoint.
An exciting night for music-loving visitors awaits as BDO presents Freestyle on January 25, 7:00 p.m. at SM Southpoint. Another musical treat by Orange and Lemons at 11:00 p.m. caps the fun-filled celebration.
The AweSM Cosplay Fun Ramp and Parade adds color and creativity to the festivities. The event runs from January 22 to 25, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at SM Southpoint. Cosplayers of all ages step into their favorite characters, turning the space into a lively showcase of self-expression and unmistakable AweSM Dinagyang energy.
Making sure that Dinagyang is enjoyed while discovering great finds across the mall is the AweSM Festival Sale from January 19 to 25.
All ways lead to SM City Iloilo for a complete Dinagyang journey—Ilonggos and visitors are enjoined to max out the Dinagyang experience at their most-loved mall.
Launched in 2019, the campaign combines shopping, culture, music, gastronomy, and innovative showcases, positioning SM Supermalls as the ultimate destination for both Ilonggos and visitors seeking immersive Dinagyang festivities. The campaign has grown into a city-wide tradition, bringing the many colors, rhythms, and stories of Dinagyang together, allowing everyone to experience the festival spirit under one roof.
