Attachments area DTI facilities impact on MSMEs productivity

SAN JOSE, Antique – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has established  48 Shared Service Facility (SSF) projects in the province geared towards improving the productivity of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises or MSMEs.

DTI Antique Supervising Trade and Industry Specialist Arlene Galopo said that the project is implemented with project partners dubbed as cooperators coming either from the non-government organizations, people’s organizations, cooperatives, industry/business associations, local government units (LGUs), state universities/colleges technical vocational schools and other similar government and training institutions.

Under the project, machines, equipment, and capability trainings, among others are provided to the beneficiaries to help improve the quality of their products, and increase their income, Galopo said in her lecture during the monthly meeting of the Antique Association of Information Officers.

DTI-6 Regional Director Rebecca M. Rascon said that they will monitor the program and if they find out that the machines and other equipment are idle, these will be retrieved and be given to another beneficiaries who are much efficient and competitive.

“Let us give human face to the government’s goal of inclusive growth and jobs generation through the SSF,” Rascon said.

In a related development, the DTI also conducted the ribbon-cutting and blessing of the SSF for Food processing and Toll Packaging Center at Barangay Funda-Dalipe in San Jose town, while the turn-over ceremony for other SSF projects of the municipalities of San Jose, Anini-y, Tobias Fornier, Hamtic, San Remigio, Sibalom and Belison was held at the Antique National School, here.

The event was graced by DTI-6 Director Rascon, Senator Loren Legarda, Governor Rhodora Cadiao, San Jose Mayor Elmer Untaran, DTI Antique Provincial Director Mercedes Young, and other government officials. (PIA-Antique)
