Atom Araullo examines the unseen threats to students and schools in ‘The Atom Araullo Specials’

Award-winning journalist Atom Araullo explores the difficult questions surrounding school safety and the protection of students in “The Atom Araullo Specials: What We Don’t See,” airing this Saturday, August 29.

On June 22, a mass shooting took place at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City, leaving three people dead. Almost two months later, on August 18, another tragedy struck Ateneo de Zamboanga University. A shooting incident left two people dead, including the gunman.

Are the government’s responses enough to address the problem? How can we truly secure our classrooms and ensure the safety of our students? What role should families and parents play? And ultimately, how can we protect our children from possible invisible threats?

“What We Don’t See” explores these questions and examines the challenges of ensuring the safety of students inside and outside the classroom.
