It was a cool night of historical significance and artistic philanthropy at the University of San Agustin (USA).
In preparation for the university’s 120th founding anniversary next month, a dinner and auction night was held at the USA’s CPMT Building to raise funds for the upcoming milestone celebrations.
The event was spearheaded by USA Iloilo’s High School Class of ’72 and Museo Iloilo, led by its President Gina Sarabia-Espinosa and Chairman Imelda Caperonce-Florete.
Paintings that captured the essence of local culture, as interpreted by the Master of Arts at Museo Iloilo, were auctioned to the delight of the A-list invitees. Without hesitation, they purchased their favorite pieces.
The event was supported by Fr. Dominador Besares and Architect Adonis Canonicato of USA Iloilo, along with the Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo, headed by club President Michael Ho.
Adding to the night’s pomp and gaiety were performances by USA Iloilo’s talented Troubadours Choir, Kawilihan dancers, and Primus Band. A raffle of stunning paintings also provided excitement for the lucky winners.
