Army truck hits jeep in Jamindan, injures 2

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A jeepney driver and his conductor were injured when their passenger jeep collided with a Philippine Army truck Tuesday morning, June 16, in Barangay Esperanza, Jamindan, Capiz.

Police identified the jeepney driver as alias “Isagani,” 71, a retired Army soldier, and the conductor as alias “Athan,” of legal age.

Both are residents of Barangay Jaena Norte, Jamindan.

The driver of the Army troop carrier was identified as alias “Emmanuel,” 34, a member of the Philippine Army and a resident of Tubod, Lakewood, Zamboanga del Sur.

An investigation by the Jamindan Municipal Police Station showed the jeepney was on its way to Roxas City when it collided with the olive-green Army troop carrier, which was headed to Camp Peralta in Barangay Jaena Norte, Jamindan.

The jeepney driver and conductor sustained minor injuries in different parts of their bodies.

Personnel of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Jamindan immediately responded and treated the injured.

The jeepney passengers and the Army truck driver were reportedly unhurt.

Police are investigating the incident.
