BACOLOD City – The Army’s 3rd Infantry Division (ID) released on Saturday the names of the four New People’s Army (NPA) members who were killed in a clash at Barangay Luyang, Mabinay, Negros Oriental on June 18, 2020.
According to Captain Cenon Pancito III, spokesperson of Army’s 3rd Infantry Division (ID), the fatalities were Raymond Cadayona of Manjuyod town, Romel Angeles, Joey Tabuyo, and Rolando Germino, all residents of Himamaylan City.
Pancito said that there was a delay in the releasing of names because they waited for the families to claim the bodies.
He said that authorities met their families on Friday afternoon, adding that it was their way of establishing proof about their real identities.
The encounter happened last week as military troopers and the police attempted to serve an alias arrest warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Law) against another slain rebel Isaias Rabilista at Sitio Talingting.
The firefight lasted for 30 minutes.
Rabilista was tagged in the ambush-slay of four policemen in Ayungon town last year, after he was allegedly seen in the ambush site.
