BACOLOD City – Unidentified armed men opened fire at heavy equipment of a construction firm in Barangay Mailum, Bago City, Negros Occidental Sunday.
Police records indicated that armed men on board a car arrived at the area past 1 a.m. and shot an array of equipment – two transit mixer trucks, a grader, bulldozer, a backhoe, and a dumptruck owned by Adrian Golingan of Bacolod City.
Before leaving the area, the suspects spray-painted these words on a transit mixer truck: “Mabuhay ang New People’s Army (NPA).”
Witnesses claimed that the assailants fled on board a black pick-up truck.
No injuries were reported.
Police recovered from the scene 16 fired bullets of an M16 rifle, and a live ammunition.
Investigation is ongoing.
