One of the “most wanted persons” of Antique province was arrested morning of September 11 at SM City Bicutan in Parañaque City, Metro Manila.
Ronald Amara, 24, who hails from Barangay Aningalan, San Remegio, Antique, was accused of rape when he was just a teenager.
Members of the Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO) Tracker Team, 1st Antique 1st Mobile Force Company, PNP Maritime Group and Southern Police District Special Operations Unit collared Amara by virtue of an arrest warrant for rape docketed as Criminal Case No. 201-06-8589.
Judge Francisco Guzman of the Regional Trial Court Branch 12 in San Jose, Antique issued the arrest warrant on July 20, 2015.
No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
Amara went into hiding for more than six years after he was accused of raping a 12-year-old girl in 2014.
Amara is presently detained at the Southern Police District (SPD) 1 Special Operations Unit custodial facility.
