BACOLOD City – Authorities seized an estimated P568,600 worth of suspected shabu here and in Negros Occidental in the last week of June 2020 amid the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In Negros Occidental, anti-drug operatives arrested 17 alleged drug offenders and confiscated P429,600 worth of drugs.
The buy-bust operations were conducted in the cities of Silay, Sagay, San Carlos, La Carlota, Himamaylan, Talisay, and Victorias, and the towns of Toboso and La Castellana from June 23 to 30.
Silay City conducted three buy-bust operations, with the highest drug haul of P301,000 among the 31 cities and municipalities in the province during the said period.
Local policemen also arrested four persons and recovered P139,000 worth of suspected shabu in two separate drug bust operations at Barangay Taculing and Barangay 1 here on June 27.
All four suspects in Bacolod are now under the custody of Police Stations 6 and 2, respectively.
