Another truck driver was arrested in a police anti-drug operation afternoon of Jan 15, 2021.
And just like in previous operations, Dindo Trinilla was also arrested in Leganes, Iloilo.
Members of Leganes Police Station nabbed Trinilla, 43, of Barangay San Pablo, Manapla, Negros Occidental after a two-week surveillance.
Captain Roy Tayona, Leganes police chief, said the suspect sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P3,000 to a police poseur-buyer.
The deal was sealed around 1 pm Friday at Barangay MV Hechanova, Leganes town.
Police seized from Trinilla’s possession five sachets of suspected shabu, a mobile phone, receipts, and cash of P950.
Tayona said the suspect is a street-level drug personality who allegedly peddled shabu to his fellow drivers.
Aside from peddling, it was believed that Trinilla was also using shabu.
While he admitted being on drugs, the suspect denied selling shabu.
He said he consumed drugs to fight tiredness and sleepiness while on the job.
Police believed that Trinilla got his drug supply from Bacolod City.
On Nov. 24, 2019, a truck driver was also arrested in Leganes town.
Ariel Canapit, 54, of Barangay Talaba, Badiangan, Iloilo, allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth P10,000 to a police undercover agent.
After his arrest, police seized six sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P60,000, an improvised tooted, a mobile phone, a wallet with several identification cards, P600 cash, P10,000 buy bust/boodle money.
On October 25, Leganes policemen and IPPO-PDEU operations also arrested a truck driver at Barangay San Vicente, Leganes.
Jhonar Placido, 27, of Barangay Pandan, Leon, allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth P8,000 to a police poseur buyer.
Police operatives yielded from him five more sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P96,000 to P100,000.
Just like the two truck drivers, Trinilla would also be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
