Another Peryahan bet collector nabbed

Another bet collector for Peryahan ng Bayan was arrested in Antique province.

The latest arrest happened 1:15 p.m. of September 23 along Sitio Calaugan, Barangay Poblacion, Tibiao town.

Members of Tibiao Police Station and Antique Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit (APPO-PIU) nabbed Recto Absalon, 60, also a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Poblacion, Tibiao.

Recovered from his possession were a set of PCSO Peryahan throw coins, a trimmed carbon paper, six detached slips of PCSO peryahan throw coins with written number combination, a sling bag, a mobile phone, black ballpen, and cash of P677.

Last July, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) announced that the Peryahan Games operation of Peryahan ng Bayan in Panay Island is deemed illegal.

The PRO-6 said police would make arrest to anyone involved in Peryahan Games citing as bases the certification and letter issued by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

Despite the warning, several arrests were made in Antique after that.

On September 15, another bet collector was also arrested at Barangay Sta. Ana, Pandan town.

On August 4, another bet collector was also arrested in District III, Sibalom.
