Police seized ammunition and magazines during a firearm raid at the home of a retired Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) officer in Ajuy, Iloilo.
Authorities raided the residence of the 61-year-old suspect, identified only as “Jeffrey,” in Sitio Tamurara, Barangay Culasi, Ajuy, around 9 a.m. on March 2.
The operation was led by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office – Provincial Intelligence Unit (IPPO-PIU), with support from the IPPO Special Operations Group, IPPO Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Ajuy Municipal Police Station, 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company, and HRMU-6.
The raid was conducted under Search Warrant No. EJ2025-05, issued by Judge Jose Mauricio Gomez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 71 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, on Feb. 25, 2025.
Police recovered 25 rounds of ammunition, three magazines for a caliber 5.56mm rifle, and a magazine pouch.
It was not immediately clear whether complaints had been filed against Jeffrey before the operation.
He was arrested and is now in police custody for the proper disposition of his case.
