Almost P700,000 worth of ‘shabu’, ‘marijuana’ seized

BACOLOD City – Around PHP691,784 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated by police and 11 persons were arrested in separate buy-bust operations here and in Negros Occidental from January 14 to 16.

The seizure included PHP251,280 worth of suspected shabu and marijuana recovered from four persons who were arrested in three villages here.

The buy-bust operations were conducted in Barangays 10, Mandalagan, and Vista Alegre here.

The operation in Barangay Mandalagan led to the confiscation of P115,600 worth of suspected shabu and suspected marijuana from a man last Thursday.

The remaining PHP440,504 of suspected shabu was recovered in four cities and one municipality in the province that led to the apprehension of seven persons.

The drug busts were conducted in the cities of Talisay, Silay, Cadiz, and Kabankalan, and the town of La Castellana.

The big drug haul was reported in Kabankalan City, with the seizure of PHP374,000 worth of suspected shabu from two persons last Friday.
