ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A notorious robber is facing charges for illegal gun possession and violation of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) gun ban after his arrest in a buy-bust operation on Monday evening, February 3, in Sitio Gaba, Barangay Banica, Roxas City.
Police Lt. Col. Lumyaen Lidawan, Roxas City police chief, said Jay Maniapo Alloc, alias “Siping,” 27, of McKinley Street, Barangay 1, Roxas City, will be charged with violating Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and the Omnibus Election Code in relation to Comelec Resolution 11067 before the City Prosecutor’s Office.
Police arrested the suspect around 7:15 p.m. during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Roxas City Police and the 1st Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company.
Authorities recovered from him a sling bag, a .38-caliber revolver, a .22-caliber magazine with four live rounds, a PHP 100 bill, and PHP 800 in boodle money.
The suspect is currently in the custody of the Roxas City police for proper disposition.
Police said the operation followed a week of monitoring and surveillance against Alloc.
He has been tagged as the suspect behind a series of robbery incidents in Roxas City.
