BACOLOD City- An alleged top official of the New Peoples Army (NPA) in Negros Island facing murder and frustrated murder charges in court and his companion were arrested last week by police at Sitio Linasgasan, Brgy. Bato in Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
Lorenzo Ferolino (with aliases of Tisoy, Jamil and Victor) is facing five murder cases and a frustrated murder case, according to Chief Inspector Antonio Benitez, Sagay City police officer-in-charge.
Benitez said they also captured Ferolinos companion, Clydie Sabete. Both are residents of Brgy. Washington, Escalante City.
Police seized from the duo a Honda XRM 125 motorcycle, a 45-caliber pistol with two magazines containing 22 ammunition pieces, a fragmentation grenade, a calibre-22 Black Widow revolver, assorted medicines, P4,860 cash, personal belongings and alleged subversive documents.
Ferolino, 39, is reportedly the secretary of the Northern Negros Front and concurrent intelligence officer of the Komiteng Rehiyonal-Negros (KR-N) Special Partisan Unit (SPARU) as well as its head of its Technical Department.
Benitez said that Sabete, 26, is also the alleged political instructor and finance officer of the Northern Negros Front, also known as the Roselyn Pelle Command.
