Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Capiz-Provincial Field Unit and Pontevedra Municipal Police Station conducted an entrapment operation that resulted in the arrest of Anthony Villasan, 41, on June 8, 2021 at Brgy. Sublangon, Pontevedra, Capiz.
Villasan, a resident of Poblacion Tacas, Pontevedra, allegedly sold a .45-caliber pistol with 2 magazines and 5 ammunitions for P19,000.
The operatives said they received information that Villasan was selling firearms.
The team tried to entrap Villasan but they failed.
The day after the failed attempt, the suspect called the poseur-buyer saying that he was selling a caliber .45 pistol.
This prompted the operatives to immediately conduct another entrapment operation which led to Villasan’s arrest.
Villasan is detained at the CIDG Capiz Provincial Field office.
