BACOLOD City – An alleged member of a drug group was busted with 80 grams of suspected shabu worth P544,000 at Barangay 5, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Dec. 23.
The operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-6 and PDEA-Negros Occidental, along with the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), and San Carlos City Police Station, resulted in the arrest of Roldan Alqueza, 60, of Barangay 6.
Alqueza’s arrest came after PDEA received a report via text through ‘Isumbong Mo sa PDEA’ hotline about his alleged illegal drug activity.
The PDEA hotline aims to encourage the public to report illegal drug activities in their neighborhood.
Meanwhile, a total P42,330 worth of suspected shabu was also confiscated from two persons in separate buy-bust operations in Silay City and La Castellana town in the province on the same day.
In Bacolod, a 24-year-old man was also apprehended by Police Station 6 in a drug bust in Barangay Taculing on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, following the recovery of P27,200 worth of suspected shabu.
