Bacolod City – Atty. Pinky Mirano- Ocampo, MassKara Festival 2022 director, said Friday that all is set for the weekend highlight of this year’s celebration to be capped off with the Electric MassKara Dance Parade and the Street Dancing Competition on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Ocampo and festival public relations officer Mate Espina briefed the media on the final two days of the MassKara Festival with the expected arrival of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., and other very important guests.
She said that the Electric MassKara parade on Saturday afternoon will start from the Megaworld Upper East Township to the Bacolod City Government Center for the 13 participating groups’ performance.
The grand winner will receive P300,000.
On the other hand, the MassKara Street Dancing competition will start from Rizal street to Araneta and will end at the Paglaum Sports Complex where they will show off their performance.
Seventeen barangays will compete for the P1 million grand prize.
Ocampo said President Marcos is expected to give an address at the Paglaum Sports Complex.
So far she said security measures have been taken care of with the expected arrival of the President.
She also confirmed that members of the Presidential Management Staff and the Presidential Security Group have arrived in preparation for the President’s arrival.
According to Ocampo, the holding of the MassKara festival that started Oct 1, 2022 has been smooth sailing and successful.
She said she hopes this will continue until the final day as she advised the public to be patient as traffic is expected to be a problem in major streets of the city.
