SINGAPORE – Alipay+, a cross-border mobile payment solution by Ant International, has expanded its ecosystem to 35 international payment partners, connecting travelers to over 90 million merchants across 66 markets as global tourism rebounds.
The announcement comes during the peak year-end travel season, with Alipay+ enhancing its offerings to include in-app marketing, digital lifestyle services, and exclusive promotions for users, empowering them to “travel like a local.”
“Travel has a significant impact to local and regional economies, uplifting communities, small businesses and livelihoods, trends expected to accelerate in 2025,” said Douglas Feagin, President of Ant International. “Through innovation and partnerships with merchants and tourism organizations, we aim to help more businesses leverage the opportunities from growth in tourism, while continually enhancing the personalized travel experience for travelers.”
Travel spending has surged globally in 2024, with an 80% increase at food and beverage outlets, a 50% rise at attractions, and a 120% spike in transportation services like taxis and trains. Alipay+ now offers seamless payment experiences and rewards across various top travel destinations.
