Alimodian marked a historic milestone on Dec. 4, 2025, with the formal opening of its One Town, One Product (OTOP) Hub—becoming the first municipality in Iloilo province, outside Iloilo City, to launch such a facility.
The OTOP Hub, the third in the province, was established under Republic Act No. 11960, or the OTOP Philippines Act, which institutionalizes OTOP as a national strategy to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), promote local products, and preserve cultural identity through livelihood and community innovation.
Mayor Ian Kenneth A. Alfeche led the inauguration, joined by Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Iloilo Officer in Charge Provincial Director Ma. Dorita D. Chavez and Alimodian MSME Association President John Querve Tanda.
Their participation underscored the strong collaboration between local government, national agencies, and the business sector in pursuing inclusive economic growth.
A key moment during the ceremony was the signing of a memorandum of agreement among the Municipality of Alimodian, DTI Iloilo Province, and the MSME community.
The agreement formalizes their commitment to provide sustained support for local entrepreneurs in alignment with R.A. 11960.
The event also featured the ceremonial unveiling of the OTOP Hub signage, witnessed by DTI officials, Sangguniang Bayan members, department heads, local leaders, and MSME partners.
The unveiling signified not just the launch of a new facility but the start of a strengthened platform for local business development.
The new OTOP Hub will showcase Alimodian’s best products—from artisanal crafts and heritage goods to processed food and innovative creations.
Designed to widen market access and foster enterprise growth, the hub aims to enhance product visibility, improve competitiveness, and offer ongoing mentorship and development support for MSMEs.
