Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala is already out of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Rafael Nadal Academy women’s $25,000 lawn tennis tournament.
After a dominating first-round victory, Eala could not do much against no. 3 seed Jana Fett in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.
Eala even put on a strong start like what she did in her first match where she just pressured her opponent with her huge forehand winners and dictated the baseline pace of the game.
However, Fett was able to make adjustments in order to counter Eala’s huge groundstrokes.
Soon as the second set started, Fett and her team started to deploy a serve-and-volley game where she attacked the net immediately after her first service.
By doing that, Eala was stuck in no man’s land most of the time and was limited to several baseline winners compared to the first set.
Fett then gained more momentum heading into the third and deciding set and cruised against Eala to move up to the tournament’s third round.
