Alex Eala achieved another milestone in her young tennis career after climbing up to world No. 2 in the newly released World Juniors rankings.
After raking championship trophies in both the singles and doubles category at the JA Milan tournament, the Filipina tennis ace boosted her total points by an impressive 467.5 points.
From 2318.75 points, Eala is now holding a total of 2786.25 points, surpassing France’s pride and one of her main rivals Elsa Jacquemot with 2404.25 points.
Eala’s world no. 2 ranking and current obtained total points of 2786.25 is the highest-ever recorded by a Filipino in the professional level of the sport.
“What an amazing week. Thank you to the Tennis Club Milano for the beautiful tournament. Thank you to Rafa Nadal Academy for always giving me the best. Most of all, salamat sa mga kababayan and thanks to all my supporters,” Eala posted on her Facebook account.
However, Eala bared that the job is not yet done as she still looks to take over that world no. 1 spot from Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva from Andorra.
