Filipina tennis ace Alex Eala is back in action and clinched her first win in the International Tennis Federation Grade 1 tournament.
Eala dominated her opponent Darja Vidmanova of the Czech Republic in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, and is determined to stamp a decent stint on the tournament before marching to the 2021 Wimbledon.
After claiming her second Grand Slam title in Roland Garros last month, the prized Filipina tennis player is hoping to raise a trophy on the grass surface.
Eala was just too much for the 18-year-old Vidmanova as she imposed her will early in the first set with her big-time forehand winners.
The offensive clinic continued until the next set despite the shift in the strategy of Vidmanova, where she targeted Eala’s backhand and tried to evade the forehand side.
Regardless of the result of the tournament, Eala will then enter the facility in London and begin her Wimbledon Grand Slam campaign on July 5.
Eala will seek to clinch her first grand slam championship trophy on the grass surface after impressing in the clay-court during the French Open.
